You Are Never Too Old To Learn Stupidity!

One man's trash is not always another man's treasure, especially when it is dumped on him in the middle of the night. We are all for recycling by passing items you no longer have any use for on to someone else who might have a need for them, but really...

We live on a quiet country road with only five houses on our end, spaced far enough apart so that we can't see what the neighbour next to us is doing nor he us, and that's just the way we like it. We value our privacy and love the peace and quite that comes with owning a home surrounded by woods and apple orchards.

One of the downsides of living where we do is that other people take advantage of our homes being "out of the way" to slip in under the cover of darkness and dump their garbage in the ditches along the side of the road. We are constantly bombarded with lazy people's throw a ways, everything from beverage and fast food containers, entire garbage bags full of trash, tires, TVs, mattresses and other items of furniture. I recently hauled home two large garbage bags filled with empty "40 ouncers"...good to know someone  is enjoying themselves...and spaghetti sauce jars with an inch of mould in them and washed them, not a pleasant task, so they could be recycled. Each time we get dumped on, we drag it home and set it aside until the next spring or fall cleanup so we can dispose of it properly.

We are getting tired and fed up of cleaning up after stupid, ignorant people who are old enough to know better...this is not the act of young people who seem to get blamed all too quickly for every misdeed... adults are the culprit here...which only goes to show that you are never too old to learn stupidity.

Here is the latest "dump."

Not easily riled,
I was fit to be hog tied when I encountered
this latest dump this morning.

We've had enough! The RCMP have been called, Valley Waste has been notified, the neighbours have been called and are on board to keep watch, the apple grower in the area is going to have his workers keep and eye open, NO DUMPING signs will soon be erected and letters will be going out to the local and regional papers. We may not yet  know who is responsible for the illegal dumping...but we will! Big Brother is watching.

  1. Ooh, it would be so fun if you caught someone in the act....I hope you are at least able to put a stop to it.
