Grade Three

I've come to the realization lately that some things
that seemed so natural and effortless when I was a kid are no longer easily done.

As I am in the middle of week 4 of the X-Weighted 26 week challenge, I decided to add skipping to my exercise plan...easy stuff...right...only to find that it's not that easy. I can, at best, manage five jumps before tripping over the rope.

Solution: I dusted off my trampoline and now I can jump to my heart's content, sans rope.

I can no longer have a hot soak without falling asleep in the tub. Although we didn't have a bath tub when I was a kid (I was around 16 before we had an indoor bathroom) I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have fallen asleep.

Solution: Take showers.

Peeing in the woods is damn hard, especially when decked out in long underwear, snow pants and snowshoes strapped to my feet.

Solution: Must work on improving balance or, as a last resort...DEPENDS!

  1. hahaha good laugh i needed that, hey you know yoga can help you with that balance problem :)

  2. Oh Marisa, you crack me up. Great solutions! Keep up the good work.

  3. Don't give up on the jumprope - I'm up to 60 little jumps and sometimes I trip on 54 and start to complete up to 60! It's a heart starter. I had it in one of my exercise classes a few months ago and thought I was dying - so, yeah, I bought a jumprope! Dang, I'm not exactly double-dutching it but I'd bet most of my friends haven't touched a jumprope since 4th grade:) ....and yes, I love this post because OBVIOUSLY I'm not the kid I used to be. Most days I can live with that:)

  4. Gosh, I don't think I want to try to skip now.
