WISHCASTING WEDNESDAY

"Ornament can be purchased at Great Gifts From Ireland"

Jamie's question for us this week is:

What do you wish to begin?

I think I had the answer to this one the moment I opened my beautiful blue eyes this morning.

You know the saying, "As you slide down the banister of life, may the splinters never point the wrong way."

Well, I want to be that splinter!

Always the peace keeper...keeping my mouth zipped as to not add fuel to the fire...going with the flow to keep everyone else happy and letting others make decisions for me based on what they believe is for my own good although, ultimately it's really all about them.

No more.
I want to begin shouting
NO!

I will be that person that rubs the wrong way...the difficult to deal with one!
I want to be the one who throws the monkey wrench into the gears!
I want to be the kid you have to pick up and carry to the bus stop,
kicking and screaming the whole way.
(which was the only way to get me there when I was little)
I want to pitch a fit!
...and yes, I want to be a splinter!

...can you tell I woke up with a bad headache and a bad attitude...
I'll be fine after my two cup coffee fix!
:)

  2. No lack of self-confidence, I see, because of the "beautiful blue eyes". ;)
I think, it's not very confortable to be the splinter- but I can understand, always being the one nodding and making it easy isn't the right way!
So: good girls go to heaven and bad girls go everywhere!
    Take care!

As Marisa wishes for herself, so I wish for her also.

  9. I'll lend you my red cup, sister!

You know, it's funny, but I've always thought of you as that grain of sand that rubs the oyster raw till it makes the most wonderful pearl.

I didn't know you try to damp down that part of you that I see and hear so clearly. Please, let her be, I like her very much.

As Marisa so rightly wishes for herself, so I lovingly and with intention wish for her also.

Although, as your daughter, I do think it's funny that this is your wish because I don't remember you likely it much when I showed my "splinters"! :)

  13. Oh Dear! I do believe you'd like to be a little more forceful in expressing your needs and wants, perhaps in exercising your options and to no longer go quietly when what you want to do is shout. So I wish for Marisa great strength and courage in remaining true to herself and that she never allow herself to be someone else's doormat. As Marisa wishes for herself I so lovingly and cautiously wish for her also.

  28. Well, wrong side of the bed or no - there are some days that one needs to say no, stand up, be counter with that no - go for it.....although from your list of readers sounds like this is not your usual thing to want to be a splinter:) How about just a bump on the slide rather than a splinter.......

  29. You be that splinter! Here's a nice, rough plank of wood to get you started! (It's wonderfully liberating. That's been a prime life lesson of mine for the past three years.)

As Marisa wishes for herself, I wish for her also.

  35. Hope the coffee helped.
Lots of people ou there want to hollar no.
I remember once asking a rhetorical question in a sermon to which the obvious answerr was YES.
A kid stood up on the pew and hollared NO. and the place broke up.
A lot of those people really wanted to do that.
