MY RIDE ON THE WILD SIDE-THROUGH ROSE COLORED GLASSES

MY DAUGHTER THINKS I SHOULD DRESS UP MY CIRCA 1954 SCHWINN CORVETTE BIKE BY ADDING STREAMERS OR BIG FELT COVERED DICE TO THE HANDLE BARS.

The sun didn't shine on Saturday for the Apple Blossom parade so I postponed my bike cruising til Sunday, which turned out to be a gorgeous sunny day- perfect for a bike ride! Unfortunately, the apple blossoms had peaked the week before so they weren't putting on their best show, or there would have been more people out enjoying the display. Those who were out must have thought I was a straggler from the parade the day before although I didn't see their expressions as every time I met a car I had my head down like a two year old...if I can't see them...they can't see me...right?

If you think my pictures are a little on the "pink" side, they are. Not sure what's going on with my camera, hopefully the settings are just off and I can fix the problem. It's not quite five years old and I paid close to $500 for it so I hadn't planned on replacing it yet. I will probably buy a cheaper one for now, or perhaps I should take my pink pictures as a sign and look at it optimistically...I always said that someday I wanted to buy a good camera and actually learn how to use it, above and beyond the automatic setting...maybe even take some photography classes. We'll see.

  1. Yippeee!!! What a FAB bicycle!! LOVE IT!!

And I'm with your daughter...some streamers would be just perfect...and the dice? Why not, I say!!

    You are awesome....

thanks for posting the pics...which, I might add, are super cool with that pinky highlight business..some people wrangle with Photoshop for ages to get just that degree of cool!!

    ~much love~

  3. PS. I removed myself as an author on your blog because you are doing fine without me and seem to have no problem with the tech-end side of things. I'm proud of you, and brag that my mom blogs:)

  4. Marjean, I came by your blog by way of Mel. I love it! I decided to join The Sisterhood and went to copy your widget gadget thingy and found that it didn't link to Mel's site. After much wrestling and feeling techno-illiterate, I figured it out: you have an extra http:// in front of Mel's web address. I changed that on my blog, and it worked like a charm.

I'm gonna go befriend you by becoming a reader, now...

    Have a wonderful day!

  5. Welcome to my blog Jenell and thanks for pointing out my mistake. I'm new to blogging and the computer technology stuff is giving me some hair pulling moments at times but I'm slowly getting there. It's a work in progress for sure.
I made the correction on my page and it works fine now.
