WISHCASTING WEDNESDAY

Jamie has made this weeks wishcasting question easier with:

What do you wish to acknowledge yourself for?

As I had a post ready to go this morning,
and as it ties in with the question Jamie ask,
I am going to take the liberty of
multitasking once again.

DREAMING BIG OR JUST ON A HIGH

Mel over at “From Clutter To Shine” has awarded me the Domestic Witch Blogger Award, and damn it, I'm gonna accept it because "I ain't been nothin' but domestic these past few weeks" If you've been following my blog, you know that, along with caring for my little daycare kiddies during the day, I’ve also been up to by ears in preserving veggies from our garden. I’m starting to dream zucchini and cucumbers…and the tomatoes are just starting to ripen…at least there will be a little more color to my dreams.

With cauldron fired up, I’ve been pickling up a storm.

“What are we going to do with all these pickles?" hubby asks.
“We’re going to eat them my dear,” reply I.

More pickles
(plus herbs from my garden hanging to dry.
)

The last few years we’ve been eating salads…lots and lots of salads…because they’re good for you and for the waistline, or so I've been told, though I'm not quite sure if this is true. This winter we’re going to change our eating habits and the question will be,

“What will you have dear, to go with your pickles?”

Maybe I'll start a new "pickle" movement and write a book about it and make oodles of money and buy up all the pickle factories in the world and Marisa's Fabulous Pickles will find their way into every home in the universe...no beyond the universe, cause if I'm gonna dream big I don't wanna be a little pickle...I wanna be one of those big juicy pickles that when you bite into it your mouth puckers and juice runs down your chin and you have to grab a really big absorbent paper towel to ...hey with all my money I could buy up all the paper towel factories in the world and divert all the pickle production waste from my pickle factory monopoly and convert it into bio-ecological paper/pickle towels and I would be even more famous with even more money so I could build more pickle factories in the poorer countries and pay the workers a fair...no, a generous wage...cause I'm dreaming big...remember...and all the workers could have all the free pickles they want, tiny ones, sliced ones and big fat juicy ones that dribble juice down their...wait...they're gonna need super absorbent paper towels to wipe all that juice off their chins so, I"ll build more factories and hire more workers and.............

I'm supposed to pass this award on to three other people but,
as you can tell,
I've been breathing in pickle fumes for way too long.
...must get some sleep so I can get up at 5:30
and cook the next batch of pickles before
the kiddies get here.

...will choose three other Domestic Witches at a later date
...when I come down off my high
...hey, I just had a thought...
someone came up with "wild" things
to do with mushrooms
...now,
if I could only find a way to harvest pickle fumes?

postscript: it's the next morning, the pickles are cooked, bottled and the jars are boiling away in the water bath caner, and I've got 20 min. left to sit.
God, I'm good! :)

  1. Hey Marisa,

Did you see Crossing Delancy where the lead character dates "the Pickle Man"? This pickle big dream you've got going on rocks! Talk about a niche. Everything's coming up pickles. Keep going with that! I wish that you become "the pickle lady."
