THINK I'LL HANG ON TO HIM A WHILE LONGER

Amidst the throw away society of today, Hubby and I are quickly becoming an oddity. Be it our resistance to change, our fugal upbringing or being just plain cheap, when we get something we tend to take care of it, making it last for years. That's getting harder and harder to do as quality is being replaced by mass produced junk made to last at best a few years.

We don't mind that we are driving an eight year old Nissan Sentra...she's still a baby in our minds and we will probably still be driving her eight years from now. Hubby is still driving his 25 year old Ford Ranger...with original paint and is only just now starting to consider finding a replacement.

(This ain't no Toyota either!)

T
That's just the way we are.
And after I finish typing this post using our 10 year old PC...a dinosaur in the world of computers, I will take something out of our 30 year old deep freeze to cook for supper after which we will either relax in front of our 25 year old floor model TV or...

lay a few vinyls on our 32 year old stereo... eight track quit years ago but radio and record player work fine.

But it's not just the appliances and vehicles getting old around here...

Hubby turns 55 today!!!

Although he's starting to show his age a little there's still a lot of wear in him left,
and since he's a pretty good guy,
(most of the time)
I think I'll hang on to him a little longer.

Happy Birthday Paul!

I think you're deserving of a home made Lemon Meringue Birthday Pie.

  3. HAPPY 55th BIRTHDAY PAUL!!!! Have a wonderful birthday and enjoy the pie!

IMy husband and I are the same with with our cars. His car is 14 years old and the only reason I'm driving my a 2 year old car is that my 10 year old car was totaled (no injuries, phew). We hang on to stuff for a long time-- and that's a good thing!
